The comment by the Christian Council of Ghana (CGG) comes on the back of warning of a possible terror attack on Ghana and Nigeria by Popular Nigerian prophet and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor TB Joshua.

The Christian Council of Ghana (CGG) has charged security agencies to be on the alert and not run the country on the back of prophecies.

His comment comes on the back of warning of a possible terror attack on Ghana and Nigeria by Popular Nigerian prophet and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor TB Joshua.

“I see Thursday, Friday. Pray for these two nations – Nigeria and Ghana – over gathering in any way; over attack. I am seeing attack and that will be in a foreign way. The attack will come not in a local way. So please open your lips and pray for these two nations for protection,” TB Joshua said in a live sermon on Sunday April 10 aired on the Emmanuel TV channel.

He has therefore called on his congregation to pray fervently for the two nations to forestall such plans by the enemy.

But in a response, the General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana (CGG) Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong has told Accra-based Joy FM that “Our nation is not run on the back of predictions and prophecies. We have a policy direction and those who are in charge of security must work. We have been told that the security agencies have given us signals and so we as Christians must do what we are supposed to do, that is believe in God and pray.”

“Ghana at the moment, we are a secular state. If somebody gives a prophecy, that prophecy is for the Christian to handle. Our national leaders must not run the security of this country on the back of prophecies. We must be professional and do what we must do,” Rev. Opuni Frimpong added.
